In this segment, we celebrate the Girls and Women in our ecosystem, from employees, to school and youth athletes. All the amazing women that contribute to the SuperSport Schools Brand!
This month’s feature is St Stithians Girls’ Water Polo Team
St Stithians Girls' College showcased exceptional talent and determination at the National Aquatics Festival in East London, securing a 6-3 victory over defending champions Durban Girls' College in the final. Under the guidance of head coach Megan Sileno, the team dominated their pool matches, winning all four and amassing 37 goals.
In a tense semifinal against hosts Clarendon High School, Saints emerged victorious with an 8-7 win, setting the stage for their triumphant final. Key contributions came from players like Cadha Mosehla, who scored two early goals, and goalkeeper Ngcali Metu, whose crucial saves maintained their lead. This remarkable achievement highlights the team's dedication and cements their status as a powerhouse in South African school water polo.

This month’s feature in the January SPOTLIGHT on SuperSport Schools is Mukona Manavhela
The Curro Hazeldean student had a standout performance in Group 5 at the Wildeklawer Super Interhigh Series on Monday, which was held at UJ Stadium in Johannesburg, Manavhela ran a blistering 10.55s in the Boys U17 100m race, which is broke the meeting record!
This wasn’t enough for the star sprinter, as he also set a new meeting record for the 200m, with a time of 21.55s. These are records that are expected to stand for a long time in the Boys U17 100m and 200m races.
