Summer Sports Season! ☀️

As we get into the thick of the Summer Sports Season, there’s tons to look forward to in the month of October! Exclusively on the SuperSport Schools App we have the Mzwandile Mali XV’s Rugby Tour to the UK currently happening, they’ll be looking to build off their impressive 40-7 thrashing of Sevenoaks Academy when they play Brighton College on 9 October at 16h30 SA Time!

We also have one of the premier schools T20 tournaments, the Noord Suid Cricket Tournament happening all around Pretoria from 10-13 October! Along with the Schools SA20, there’s going to be tons of cricket on the go this month. To close out the month, in the pool we’re bringing you South Africa’s top water polo stayers tournament, the Saints Invitational will be happening from 24-27 October and at the same time further up the road in Sandton, will be Johannesburg’s best basketball tournament the Inanda Hoops at St David’s Marist.

This month’s feature in the October SPOTLIGHT on SuperSport Schools is Jorich van Schalkwyk.

The Affies student has been in sublime form in 2024, he’s the leading runs scorer in School Cricket this year, having amassed over 1000 runs already! He scored a mammoth 240 runs from 152 deliveries against Cornwall Hill College last month, which set a school record!

He played for the SA U19 Emerging Team that toured Zimbabwe in September.
