A Weekend of Champions, with More Big Moments Ahead🏆

On the basketball courts, Michael Mount were crowned champions at the prestigious St John’s Basketball Tournament, while Maritzburg College reclaimed the Jenny Orchard Basketball Tournament title in impressive fashion. Cricket action was equally compelling, with Cornwall Hill going unbeaten run at the Independent Schools Cricket Festival and Affies completing a successful Western Cape tour with a win over Rondebosch Boys’ and Paul Roos had a strong showing against Grey College.
In the pool, the intensity of night water polo once again lived up to expectations, as St John’s edged St David’s in a thrilling final to lift the KES Nite Series title, another reminder of the fine margins that define school sport at the highest level.
And there’s no slowing down as we look ahead to another packed calendar. The KES Water Polo Festival returns from 27 February to 1 March, bringing together some of the country’s top aquatic talent, while Pretoria hosts the ever-popular Wildeklawer A–E Bond Athletics meeting from 23–27 February, where athletes will chase early-season form and standout performances on the track and field.
All eyes will then turn to the Tuks Cricket Oval from 4–7 March for the Switch Schools SA20 Volume 2 Finals, where the next generation of cricketing stars will battle it out for T20 glory in what promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the competition.
